Who are we?
We are a small group of engineers and designers building the next generation of software tools for energy and carbon intelligence in the built environment. Our mission is to provide quality analytics that give building owners the knowledge and confidence to successfully reduce energy use and operational carbon emissions. Although we’re an early-stage company, our team brings decades of experience working on decarbonization in the building sector.
What is the role?
Our software platform brings our collective experience in architecture, building science, and product design to commercial real estate - giving building owners the energy analytics and portfolio insights they need to act. We want you to turn that domain expertise into a product our customers rely on every day. Working directly alongside the head of product and our engineering team, you will own the roadmap for key parts of the platform, translate customer needs into clear requirements, and make sure what we ship is accurate, usable, and valuable. You will be an integral part of our team as we grow, with a real voice in the major decisions that shape the product.
Who are you?
We’re looking for a product manager who is as comfortable in a data model as in a customer meeting, and who is willing to roll up their sleeves as we gain our footing in the market. You should be excited about the company’s mission and curious to learn about building energy and the real estate market, assuming you aren’t already an expert yourself. Experience taking a product from early traction to scale is a huge bonus. Apart from that, here are a few additional requirements:
- 3+ years of product management experience on a B2B SaaS or data-heavy product. You should be able to own a roadmap end to end - from discovery and prioritization through launch and iteration.
- Strong technical fluency. This is a must. You don’t need to write production code, but you should be comfortable working with engineers on APIs, data pipelines, and system architecture, writing clear specs and user stories, and digging into data yourself. Working knowledge of Python is a plus.
- A knack for turning complex, regulated domains into simple products. Familiarity with building energy, energy codes, building performance standards (such as NYC Local Law 97), or energy modeling is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills. You’ll work closely with customers, design, engineering, and sales, and you should be able to keep everyone aligned around what we’re building and why.
What can you expect?
- Competitive compensation package, with equity, based on experience.
- 100% paid medical, dental, and vision benefits.
- Flexible / hybrid work schedule. We’re open to fully remote work, but we’d like to have someone local (New York metro area) as we get our company off the ground for occasional in-person meetings. Our offices are in downtown Manhattan.
- Generous paid time off. Although we’re a startup, we value work-life balance.
- Opportunity to shape the direction of a fledgling company and make a positive impact on the environment.
